What carries over from your PSD files

Layered PSD files open with their layers, and you can save back to PSD whenever you want to keep working in layers somewhere else. Common photos (JPEG, PNG, WebP), HEIC in Safari and camera RAW files open too.

For a single cutout, export a transparent PNG or WebP. Your own work in progress can be saved as a CutLift project file, which keeps the photo, every layer and its mask. Open it again later and carry on exactly where you stopped.
